What should I bring for my for my first visit?
Prior to your appointment, you will asked by our transplant
coordinators to gather contain medical information pertinent to
your kidney failure.
The typical information we enquire includes:
1. Serum creatinine and renal function tests
2. Ultrasound of the kidneys
3. Kidney biopsy report if any or any previous surgery
4. Blood group
5. Possibility of potential kidney donors within the family
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about getting your clinical information together at the time we
schedule your evaluation appointment. You may be asked to obtain further testing after your initial visit.
During your initial evaluation, you will be interviewed and examined by Dr. Ranjan and members of his clinical team, who will also see your clinical records. Your suitability for kidney transplant will be evaluated and discussed with you. You will have ample opportunity to discuss any concerns and to and any other questions you may have.
We expect to finalise the following after 1st visit:
1. Finalization of possible potential kidney donor for you.
2. Screening of donor for fitness.
3. Give an appointment for next detailed medical workup visit.
4. Explanation of legal procedure for transplantation.
5. Explanation of the cost.
6. Review of existing medications and vaccinations.
For the subsequent visit you will be attached to one of the transplant coordinators who will handle your case planning and management. He/she will arrange all your appointments for lab diagnostics and specialist appointments and pre-anesthesia check up. You can communicate with him/her on email/phone/whatsapp to schedule your visit.
